Lois Pratt, C.P.T., N.T.P.
Exceptional Determination! That is what it takes to reclaim our rightful place of wonderful health. It is difficult in this 24/7 world of stress and processed food but the goal is reachable. The practice of Nutritional Therapy is a little different than other nutrition consultants. We have many tools in which we use to get a very thorough understanding of where our clients are nutritionally and what systems we can support for optimal health. We use a detailed symptom survey, a thorough interview, a food journal and we also conduct a hands-on functional evaluation. The functional evaluation is a process in which I will check many different reflex points on the body in order to determine specific nutritional deficiencies.
After I conduct the evaluation, I will test different supplements against the results so that I may provide you with a tailored protocol that is specifically designed for you. Your body will make it clear what supplements you respond to favorably and what will aide you in your path to reach optimal health.

Lois's Bio

Lois has her degree in Sports Medicine Technology and is certified by The American College of Sports Medicine. She more recently completed school and is certified as a Nutritional Therapist graduating from The Nutritional Therapy Association (www.nutritionaltherapy.com).  Through a Functional Evaluation, she is able to listen to the innate intelligence of the bio-individual to detect weaknesses in the organs of the body.

She began her career 26 years ago as a Certified Aerobic Instructor in Massachusetts. She realized that she wanted to help people individually and returned to school in 1990 to prepare for a career in Personal Training. For three years, she took advantage of opportunities that gave her experience as a Health Instructor, Rehabilitation Technician and Health Club Supervisor. In 1993, Lois met another Personal Trainer; Mike Morris, founder of Resist-A-Ball TM  in Destin, Florida who was just opening a studio dedicated to individual exercise programs. The company grew to 12 trainers contracted in a Five-Star Resort in Destin. Her clientele ranged from teenagers to the oldest client at 82. They were athletes, beginners, stroke patients, tennis players, golf enthusiasts and people just wanting to feel better.

In 2000, Lois fulfilled her dream of moving back to Colorado and building a house in the woods. While continuing to train clients part-time, Lois and her husband cut and debarked trees from their 6 acres to provide the lumber needed for the house. Using an old and unique building technique called “cordwood masonry” they took six years of weekends building and mortaring in each piece of wood, mixing the mortar together in a wheelbarrow.

Lois’s knowledge of the body and its mechanics has served her well in recognizing in her clients imbalances created in everyday living. Using a stability ball, free weights and resistance bands, she can create a total body workout designed for the individual without health clubs and membership fees. Training can take place in the privacy of your own home.
